Busy, Busy, Busy!

Have you ever felt like you were running in circles??? Well that is how I have felt for the last few days..... Friday early I had a dental appointment for some work, which ended up being more work than I really wanted, LOL... Dh and I shopped for about 8 hours, we pretty much got the shopping done, came home, did some baking, fell asleep.. Woke the next morning and started in with more baking, cleaning, cleaning and cleaning... Wrapped the gifts, and still have a few to go...The weather here today is warm, and all the snow is melted, but the winds are terrible.............So off to do more cleaning and more baking and preparing the meal for tomorrow when ds and his lovely bride arrive. I am so excited to see my kids, I miss them terribly! I hope they are just as excited to see dh and I as we are to see them!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Lots of cities around calling Snow Emergencies......They say "STAY OFF THE ROADS"!

I will certainly do that, need to shovel a spot for the dogs and help dh get the cars cleaned off, as he has to work this afternoon, he is a Stationary Engineer at the Hospital, so he is needed.............

I'll post pictures later, after I take them of course....

Creme Heart Sox

I have one sock to show you... I don't think you can really see the details, too well... It was a fun knit, but unfortunately I don't think I'll get it's mate cast on until after Christmas...

WEATHER.........

We have been having some icy weather.......... Started out with a 2 hour delay, and ended as a "Cancellation". So............ a bit of knitting, baking and relaxing...

Have a Knitterly day!

WOW!

I had no idea I had been knitting the K stitch wrong. What I mean by this is; I was always knitting it in the back. Now I have a question for you knitters, what is the difference in the end product if I always knit the K stitch in the back opposed to knitting it In the front unless otherwise specified? I have noticed my speed is better when I used to always knit in the back. But hey, I wanna do this the right way!

On another note, I finished one of the Creme Heart socks, I am positive I won't have time this year to cast on it's mate, but that is ok. I'll post a picture, tomorrow, I hope!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING....

Wiahing everyone a "HAPPY THANKSGIVING". We will be having a small get together. Then look out knitting needles here I come!

DH and I went to Warm and Wild Yarns last night to see our friend Nancy! Oh her shop is absolutely to die for.... It is always a pleasure to see Nancy and to talk knitting and see what she has been up to... I hope that the next time I'm there I remember to take the camera, because her shop is so cute and she sure has a knack for displaying things!

Jerry (dh) is going to try his hand at making spinning wheels, which should be fun and he is very much into wood working and machining.. So maybe by 2008 he will have one in progress or perhaps done..

What I'm Thankful for............... My family
My knitting friends (you know who you are...)
My Small but ever growing yarn stash
EVERYTHING!

I could not help myself!

I really didn't mean to do it! Honest......... I had no intention on starting another project. But....I did start the Cre'me Heart Socks! Believe me I had enough other projects to work on, but the one I wanted to work on I could not as dh was home and they are a gift for him.

Well I will keep you posted as to the progress on the Cre'me Heart Socks!

WHAT A FUN KNIT!

Ok I'm working on a Christmas gift for dh. We were at Nancy's shop a while back and he was admiring the Wristers she had knit up. So I thought, gee what a great Christmas gift those would make... I had Nancy send me the yarn and the pattern... Received the yarn yesterday, so as soon as I got home from work, I started on them! I am having a ton of fun knitting these. I just might have to get more yarn and knit another pair.
I never dreamed I could knit something like this........Sssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh, don't tell dh!

Fall Felted BAG Exchange

Finally getting around to posting about my ffb and the gifts my partner sent me! Vicki did a fantastic job, I was so pleased and surprised! I love everything and must admit, the chocolate didn't last too long. There is some really neat yarn, sling bag pattern (I'm anxious to knit this), Soduko puzzles, book written by Wendyknits, more yarn, some soaps, magnet for my frig., nivea cream that I love. All kinds of goodies... Thanks Vicki!

SOCK BLOCKERS.....................

Finally, I found the pictures of the Blockers dh makes... I really think he is talented! he is a woodworker, and also a machinist! Oh how nice it is to have a talented hubby :O)

This sock blocker has one sock that is mateless, hope I can get that resolved before 2008 gets here. It's a Waffle sock made from some yummy yarn I purchased from Nancy's shop. Its is Panda Wool and it is a Dream to Knit with!

THE MYSTERY HAS BEEN SOLVED!

I have to chuckle, after I posted about the missing Waffle Sock, low and behold! I found it.... The hunt lasted for about 1 1/2 hours. I thought I had looked in the knitting basket next to my chair, but apparently, I had only glanced in there. After I took out the SecretoftheStole, to work on it, there it was!

So the morel of the story is.......... Always look in the bottom of the basket! ROFLOL........

WHERE CAN IT BE??????

Ok, I'm either losing my mind or someone stole my partially done Waffle sock. I finsihed one and started the second and had to put it down so I could get the ISE5 swap done. I have finished the scarf and I went looking for the Waffle sock. I'm "MAD" because it was knit from this lovely Green Panda Wool I purchased at Nancy's shop, and what also irritates me is, I was knitting it magic loop, and now I need another circular. "Oh where oh where can my sock be"?

On another note, I've blocked the scarf and it comes out longer than 6 ft. Sure hope that is not too long.....

Finally an updated picture

I know I've mentioned our new pup. He is now about 5 months old. Growing like a weed. He is a really nice addition to the family. Still not sure what he is mixed with. I do know he is some type of terrior/mix. if anyone has any hunches.. please let me know!

ISE5 - Update

I measured my Scarf for the ISE5 and it measures about 40 inches. That is before blocking. I'm not finished knitting it yet, but wondered what would be a good length for a scarf??? "I WONDER"....

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?????

I just noticed that it has been a few days since I posted.... DH told me he took a picture of the pup today. I can't believe Roscoe is almost 5 months old already.. So I'll have a picture of him soon...

Trying to get moving on the ISE5, but have not been knitting, too tired once I get home from work...

FFB~ Question #4

It's a crisp, cool, sunny Sunday in October - the sky is clear, there's a bit of a breeze, and the leaves have already started to change.
How would you spend your day to best celebrate and enjoy the season? Oh I might be tempted to sit on the back porch with a hot cup of coffee and my knitting and watch for deer in the field behind our home. That would be very relaxing....
Are you at home curled up with tea and a book and a window open to enjoy the breeze? If we had a window seat in our house you just might find me with a good book and a "DELICIOUS" cup of tea. (One of my favorite beverages)
Do you head out on a long drive and hike through the mountains to see the trees? I'm not much for hiking through the mountains, but you just might find me, dh and our dog at the park taking a stroll!
Go find pumpkins and colored corn to decorate? Now this used to be a fun activity when our boys were young. I still love the look of pumpkins and colored corn on the front porches of homes.
Tell us about your special day! This year my sepcial day will be spent at school with the children in our class celebrating Halloween!

WHAT A NICE SURPRISE!

GRANDRAPIDS APPLE BUTTER FESTIVAL!

Well DH & I went to Grandrapids this morning for the Apple butter festival. I think last year there were tens of thousands of people in attendance. We definitely wanted to be there before the crowd arrived. So we spent about 3 hours there. It was a beautiful fall day, the fritters were delicious! Dh also had some home made Clam chowder...and of course plenty of Hot Coffee.................

We met a friend there who was a participant of the Historical Encampment.

Bet you'll know who she is ... Owner of Warm and Wild Yarns!

Yep you guessed............It's "NANCY"..............

Some day I hope to own one of these beauties!

There were all kinds of demonstrations....

Can you imagine all the spinning you

could do on this beauty!

Partner received her FFB.

My partner Sarah received her bag on her Birthday! I'm Happy to announce she loves it and is also pleased with the RED and Black yarn I sent her. I don't know if she will use the pattern, but I hope once she gets it knit she will share a photo with me. She an absolute dream to have as a partner...

It looks as though I forgot to take a picture of the finished bag. I'll have to post Sarah's blog address so you can check it out!

This was a FUN swap and I'd do it again in as heart beat!

FELTED BAG QUESTION #3

How often do you change the purse or bag you're carrying? I usually change my bag on a whim, most of the time it seems as though it as we are getting ready to walk out the back door.

Do you change based on seasons? Outfits? Something else? It could be one of the reasons or all 3.

What's your favorite bag in the world (and it doesn't have to be a knit/felted one!)? I don't have a favorite bag, I love them all!

Fall Felted BAG Exchange

The colors of fall tend to be oranges, yellows, crimsons, and other 'leafy' colors - what is your favorite "Color of Autumn" and where do you see it?

My favorite is Crimsons, I can find that color in Indian corn, in the leaves on the trees at home and at the park. I also enjoy all of the other colors.. brings a Smile to my face...

ONE HAPPY FOOT!

Well I've got one foot that is "HAPPY". The fit is awesome... I did realize after knitting the first sock that I was using a size 3 needle instead of a 2. Good thing I realized it as I was thinking about changing needles for the second sock as the circular has a bad join and really tries my patience...

Lime-Ade Socks

Blogger has not been cooperating today. This is about my 5th try posting...

Anyway I've been knitting away on the Lime-ade socks and I've really been enjoying myself.

The pattern was created by Cathy in Ga., it is very easy to follow. She wrote it for 2s2c, but I'm learning the ML method. I feel as though I'm ready to tackle the 2s2c soon... Thanks Cathy for creating this pattern...

FALL FELTED BAG EXCHANGE

So this week's topic:

As of this weekend, the season has officially changed on the calendar - but what makes Autumn feel like Autumn to you, and why?

Well one thing that makes Autumn feel like Autumn, is that my birthday is just around the corner. I have 18 days to wait. The second thing that makes Autumn feel like Autumn is The Apple Butter Festival held in Grandrapids Ohio. It is the most fabulous festival around. The weather is usually gorgeous and it seems like there are a Million people there. The crafters are excellent and the food and the reenactment's...Come on down or up and join in the fun. This year the festival is held the weekend of my birthday :O)

FALL FELTED BAG EXCHANGE

It's hard to believe but the mailing date is just around the corner.. I had better start focusing on the goodies that are to accompany the bag. I have to say this has really been a fun swap, and I've had the chance to meet some really nice ladies.

Well off to see what bag pattern I can come up with then decide what yarn I'm sending my pal, so she can knit it up, lol...

What have I been doing????

First day of "FALL" and the weather is Gorgeous! I sure wish the weather would stay this way all year round!

last night I was convinced to cast on the lime-ade socks. They are really turning out to be a fun knit. (there was no doubt, the designer is awesome). I am doing them the Magic Loop method one at a time, so I'm sure it will be a while before they are done.

Waiting to hear from my ISE5 partner. I think I know what I'm going to knit, need to get the yarn and then get started as the scarf and goodies needs to be mailed by 12/1.

Off to get some laundry done and then sit in front of the TV and do some knitting!

Saturday, September 22, 2007

ISE5- partner received

I'm so excited! I got home after running errands this morning and I checked email and there was my swap partners information. Oh I'll be looking for yarn today, and of course a pattern too. Although I'm waiting to hear from my partner to see what type of a scarf she is really wanting. I am anxious to start gathering goodies to send to this partner who lives West of where I live. How exciting....................

Off to do some knitting and scour the net for patterns and yarn!

Friday, September 21, 2007

FELTED BAG DILEMMA

I've got the bag felted and it looks pretty good if I say so myself. The bag is supposed to be about 14" wide by 9" tall. But it is a bit bigger than that. I figured if my partner wanted to she could felt it more... She may like it the size it is?!

My dilemma is..... the button holes for the icord to slip through, felted shut. Now I need to figure out a way to get the holes back in the fabric in the right places....

If anyone has a solution, please feel free to let me know...

Oh and I started the Icord but need to purchase more yarn..

Happy Knitting Everyone :O)

PROGRESS ON THE FALL FELTED BAG EXCH.

I wanted to share my progress on the Felted bag, but I didn't want to show too much and give it away.. So I've taken a picture of the bottom of the bag,.All I have to do is finish the bottom and seam it and then knit the I-cord handle...Then..."FELT IT"!

MAGIC LOOP "FINALLY"

I think I'm ready to post a picture of the ML sock...Had a time finding the picture on the computer, but without further ado...............Not a great picture, I'll have to focus on that, lol......

Magic Loop

Well I am teaching myself the magic loop method. I'm on the foot. I did cheat and do the decreases on dpns but I'm back to the ML. I tried earlier to post a picture, but with this new computer... I can't find the picture in my folders. So I will have to have dh help me find them. Seems like everything is different...

The sock is a very pretty green color and it is made from the Panda wool. It is lovely to knit with, and it feels so nice.................

Poor fella was not eating and pooping up a storm,( oops sorry). Anyway he is all better.. playful as can be, did we learn a lesson??? You betcha!

Ok , I have not felt like knitting on the Felted bag for the exchange. Good thing tomorrow is Friday (YEAH). I'll be knitting on the bag this weekend and hoping to felt it by next weekend if not before. I'd post a picture, but I don't want to have my pal see what it looks like!

Have a great rest of the week........................

MS3 and still hanging in there.......

Well I am still here and I was hoping to be a lot farther in the MS3 than I am. I got stalled at row 99 as I knit and tinked on 3 different occasions as I thought I had made a mistake and should have more stitches on the needles. Finally I stepped up to the plate and asked for "HELP". The ladies on the group are so "HELPFUL". I didn't have a mistake after all, so now I feel as though I have run out of steam for the day! Maybe tomorrow I can make some real progress....

MS3 Lace Knitting.......

I'll bet you are all shocked to see me post again this month, (ROFLOL).. Well I have been in the MS3 KAL. I am "WAY" behind, but that is ok! I'm having fun with it, and I feel if I'm not pressured then maybe I'll make fewer mistakes... So I'm posting a picture. I think I'm on row 88 or 89. It's knit in black yarn I had and I think it will be a gift for my "SWEET" daughter inlaw, maybe for Christmas.

Finally Finished the Waffle Socks!

Well the Oatmeal colored Waffle socks are finally finsihed and ready to be sent to the group that takes things to the Orphanages in Russia.

It has been raining cats and Dogs here with some threats of bad weather. I so wanted to take a picture of the socks, and low and behold, the weather did finally straighten up for a bit.

We (dh & I) went to Nancy Wild's Yarn Shop in Adrian Michigan, and WOW! She has a great location and her shop is ever so nice. It's my second time there and I hope to visit again soon....

Off to knit!

What I've been Knitting...............

Since it seems I am always getting behind on Blogging, I thought I would take this extra minute I have and share what I've been knitting.. I have several projects on the needles, but this is one that I've never done, and it is really a fun knit! What is it you say? Nancy Wild has sent me a pattern for a toe up sock! I am loving how this is turning out and "YES", I was skeptical at first, Nancy said "trust me", and I did! Boy am I glad I had listened to her.......... It is my first figure 8 cast on, and I was sweating bullets with that, and then hey, I got it! So........... here is a picture of the sock in progress.. I'm knitting it on double pointed needles, maybe someday I'll learn 2 circulars, but I really like the double points... Without further ado...

Promised Pictures...

Well I'm back, and you are propbably wondering why so soon, since it was in April that I posted prior to my last.. Well I did say I'd post pictures, so I have a picture of 1 sock I completed this afternoon, it is for charity, and now I need to cast on it's mate... Don't time me on getting it done quick, as I have limited knitting time, lol. It is the Blueberry waffle sock, but it is oatmeal color, so I guess we can call it the "Oatmeal Waffle sock" ROFLOL.... Until next time!

It's Been a while

Well it was brought to my attention that I hadn't bloged in a while. I don't know where the time goes... slips away! I've been busy working, gardening, and knitting, too many projects on the needles to couont, LOL. I have been knitting for charity, and I have a MS3 on the needles, need to get back to that as the next clue was out on Friday, and I am "WAY" behind. Maybe I'll get some time to post some pictures later today... But there are no promises....

Keep those needles moving...

Time Fly's

Well here it is the last day of April. I certainly have not been good about keeping up with the Blog. I do have some pictures of some knitted dish cloths I'm sending to Socks for Soldiers. I also have a pair of BBS (Big Black Socks) on the needles. Among other projects, baby booties, Gloves, that I'm very slow at, and a scarf.

I got news today after work that my son and his new bride are coming for a visit this weekend. That will be nice! So I have lots to accomplish before Saturday gets here, but I also want some knitting time, so I'll reward myself as I accomplish certain tasks!

Hopefully I can put some pictures up this week....

But I must say, it is not as beautiful as my friend's. Hers has more depth or something to the cables... Any suggestions, would be much appreciated!

Socks For Soldiers

I'm not sure if I mentioned that I belong to Socks for Soldiers. I joined about 1 year ago, and have only knit 1 or 2 pair of socks. I am currently knitting another pair of Big Black Socks for the soldiers. I feel I owe it to them, and I want them to feel LOVED. After all, they are protecting us! My dh was in the Vietnam war in the 70's. So this is also a BIG reason I am doing this. I'll bet no one sent him hand knit socks.

Well maybe I'll get some pictures posted after the socks are finished. May be a long while....

LACE SCARF

The Lace scarf for My future Daughter (In-law) is finally blocked. Just finished knitting it today. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift. But just didn't get it done for whatever reason. So you guessed it! I went and bought her something cause I didn't want her to be withouot a gift. So now 10 days before the WEDDING, I managed to get the scarf done. My son will be moving away next weekend, so I can have it all wrapped up and he can take it to her... I sure hope she likes it :O) Now to find something to KNIT!

Introducing..... "LINUS"

I thought I would introduce you to one of my favorite Pets!

Linus is a Bronze Winged Pionus. He is the sweetest. One would ask, does he talk? Well of course silly! He greets me when I get up, when I get home and whenever he sees me :O) Linus is such a joy to have around... I will admit, he is rather "MESSY". He loves to shred Phone books, so... He has his very own! If I can figure this out, I'll post a picture..... OK looks like I need someone to walk me through the posting of pictures. But I Promise, as soon as I get this figured out I'll get one on here.

Off to KNIT!

MORE Yarn!

I know I didn't really need to purchase more yarn, but I DID!

I was not happy with the yarn I was using for the Easy Triangle Shawl, so I went to Jo Ann's after work and bought 4 skeins of Patons. ( will be double stranding as a friend had suggested(you know who you are!) Anyway I want to get started on the shawl, got me some markers and also a new #13, 29 inch circular needle, that is the longest they had. I prefer bamboo to the plastic, but will use what is available.

So when I make some progress and figure out how to put a picture here, I will...

Off to knit! :O)

Another Project

OK I could not help myself !

My dear friend told me how much fun the "Easy Triangle Shawl" was. So... Need I say anymore? I cast on, found a skein of the Lion brand Homespun, Not fond of that yarn, so tomorrow I will stop and see what else is available.

I must admit, the shawl is a really fun pattern, it also helps that my friend gave me the directions with the amount of stitches listed after each row. That has helped me tremendously. "THANKS DEAR FRIEND CATHY"......

ok back to getting caught up on laundry, the buzzer just rang!

First time Blogger!

Hi everyone! Well this is my first time blogging. So Please bear with me. Thought I should give a small introduction. I sure don't want to bore you....

I have been knitting for about 3 years, I'm self taught and have tons yet to learn. I also work full time at a school for children with autism. I absolutely LOVE my job :O), Knitting is my way of relaxing.. It is a stress reliever...

I am getting ready for my son's wedding here in a few short weeks, so I really need to knit lots ,LOL!

I currently have several projects in the making.. And my friend Cathy has talked me into starting another, she says it is a no brainer...Still need to get the yarn for the shawl.

Thanks for reading and I hope I was not TOO BORING!
