Charity Knitting

I love to knit for charities...

It does not matter to me,

if I am knitting for babies,

or older kids...

I just love the thought that someone

is going to wear something I have

knit with lots and lots of "LOVE"..

SNOW DAY!

We have been having some snow since late last night...

At midnight we had about 1-2 inches..

This morning when I woke, went to put the dogs out,

and what did I see, 6-8 inches of snow and it is still coming down!

So we do not have school as most, if not all, are closed..Businesses are also

closing..Roads are not in good condition!

Prediction says we could have 10-12 inches before this is over..

LOVE THIS BAG............

I absolutely love this bag! I'm in a group on Ravelry that had this great swap! I certainly would do it again...
I was so anxious to see what I could fit into this bag, that I went into my own pantry...

I'VE BEEN INVITED!

I've been Invited to a PAJAMA PARTY!

I'll meet knitters I've talked to and I'll get
to see Nancy's NEW SHOP LOCATION.

This should be Tons of FUN!

Gotta buy some New Jammies and Slippers...

Can't wait!

I'll definitely take my camera and take some pictures of the fun!

WHAT I'VE BEEN KNITTING!

Well another new project! This has really become a fun project once I got past the bottom, the directions said to use a 26" circ, but I had a 29" and it was still pretty tight. The pattern can be found on Knitty

I am sure there will be more of these knit in the future..

What is it you ask??????? Time will tell!

TAGGED AGAIN :o)

i have been tagged by Cathy
This is a very easy one for those of you I tag.
The Rules
1.Pick up the nearest book of 123 pages.
2.Open the book to page 123 and find the 5th sentence.
3.Post the next 3 sentences.
4.Tag 5 people

Do you know how difficult it was to find a book in my house with only 123 pages... The book I found was;

Living Without Electricity (you may find this interesting, or you may not)

Amman stressed greater simplicity of life and stricter church dicipline than other Mennonites in these regions, and he wished to adopt the Dutch Mennonite practices of feet washing and shunning escommunicated members. Amman's followers became known as Amish.
Following an earlier migration of Mennonites, the Amish sought homes in North America early in the 1700s.

I love to read about the amish, but really wish I had, had a knitting story to share.

How would you spend a perfect day?

If money were no object, and the day was just perfect - not to hot, not too cold, sun shining,

slight breeze - how would you spend a perfect day out that had been given to you in the middle

of a cold and blustery winter?

I would probably spend the day riding in the car, looking for some yarn shops. I might even take a trip to my friends shop in Michigan, in fact I know I would. Of course I would hope dh had the day off so we could spend it together......Then we would stop and have lunch and after that I would come home, relax and maybe cat nap!

Presidents Day

A day off from work. That is always a GREAT thing!

So..........Some Knitting,Reading and maybe some laundry.

I need to find a list of Maggie Sefton's books as I've read 2 of them and I thoroughly

enjoyed the read.

Have a great day!

RAINY DAY!

It's been a rainy day here, and the snow is almost all melted away!

Wonder if that means spring is on its way?

Since it is a rainy gloomy day, I've made a pot of Stew and I have been

working on this~

Yep ! It is Dh "Thuja Sock", I think I will make another with solid yarn and see if the
pattern shows a bit better. I still have a long way to go, and I sure hope I

have enough yarn to make its Brother!

SO MUCH TO DO......SO LITTLE TIME!

there is so much i need to accomplish!
not nearly enough time in a weekend...
there is knitting to be done,
chores waiting to be done...

which shall i do first? what should the priority be?

i am in one swap,

there of course is knitting i want to do for me...

need to learn how to prioritize....

WHAT IS YOUR PREFERENCE?????

I've just finished knitting the "THUJA SOCKS", all I need to do is kitchener the toe on the second sock. These are for a young man in a Russian Orphanage who will be graduating!

I was wondering as I was casting on another pair of socks (for dh this time), what do most people prefer, Double pointed needles or circulars? I have just learned to knit 1 sock on the magic loop method. Someday soon I hope to learn, or master knitting both socks on 2 circulars..

I would be interested in hearing what everyone prefers when knitting their socks!

Happy Knitting!

Thuja Socks & more.........

These are the Thuja socks I had promised to post a picture of.. I am working on the foot of the brother sock, so they should be done soon, I hope. I love this pattern, and hope to try them out with some different yarn in the future. I will be sending these socks to "AKKOL", they will take them to Russia to the orphanage for a graduating young man. I will also be knitting a hat and scarf for him.

I am so surprised that today is my dear son and daughter inlaws 1st anniversary. Sure does not seem like we were in Cincinnati one year ago, Celebrating!

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!

Well apparently there will be 6 more weeks of "winter knitting". Should we be happy?? I'd rather knit out on the back porch in the sunlight!

I had no idea there were so many famous Groundhogs out there in the States.

I've been working on my "Thuja Socks", they will be going to a graduate in a Russian orphanage in August. Once I complete them, I need to cast on a hat and scarf for the young man...

Happy Knitting!
